It is bounded on the north by Utah, on the east by New Mexico, on the south by Mexico, and on the west by California and Nevada. | up in the mountains is a mere two-hour drive.
If
you're looking at the Phoenix Metro area, then the east valley is a great
place to raise kids. It's hard to do a whole lot of convincing, because
I don't really know what you like and what reasons you'd look for in a
move (other than no winters). There are lots of lakes available with fishing,
boating, and marina activities. The hot isn't so bad as long as your occupation
doesn't make you work outdoors, because everything is air-conditioned.
