Aunt Chilada's

by Nick Coons

When you first pull into the parking lot, you're not sure if you're at a restaurant or at a resort. Maybe that's because Aunt Chilada's is right there at the Pointe resort at South Mountain.

Approaching the entrance to the restaurant, you stroll across the bridge to make your way over the small lake. Upon entering, service is quick. The server, when bringing the drinks by, delivers the complimentary chips and salsa. This is a must for any Mexican restaurant, and the high quality of chips and salsa are a good indicator of things to come.

Aunt Chilada's is one of those few restaurants that serves Pepsi instead of Coke. Being highly biased towards Pepsi and believing that Coke should be wiped from the face of the earth, this favored well with me. After a short wait, our meals were delivered to us steaming hot.

A very nice experience with everything slightly above satisfactory, though nothing particularly stood out.

Aunt Chilada's is located at 7777 S. Pointe Parkway in Phoenix.
