Would you like a tour through the kitchen? How about watching them prepare
the food that you're going to eat? Before arriving at your table, they
take you through the kitchen, showing you where they prepare your food,
and their fresh-baked breads. There's also a special booth in the kitchen
if you'd prefer to eat there.
"Beppo" is a nickname for "Guiseppe",
so the direct translation for "Buca Di Beppo" would be "Hole Of Guiseppe",
or "Guiseppe's Hole", where Guiseppe hangs out.
The menu setup
is different as well. Instead of ordering a dish for yourself, you order
family-sized dishes for your table. The meal is served on an over-sized
plate, and everyone helps themselves. Of course, smaller plates are provided
as well. The food was wonderful -- My only complaint would be the use
of undercooked garlic, which I suppose is a personal preference.
Buca
Di Beppo is located at 3828 N. Scottsdale Rd. in Scottsdale.
