This was one of those "It's time for a business lunch so let's try this
place I've never been to before" reviews. I'm always up for Mexican food,
and having grown up in ArizonaArizona | (air-i'-ZON-u') | The State of Arizona comprises the extreme south-western portion of the United States. It is bounded on the north by Utah, on the east by New Mexico, on the south by Mexico, and on the west by California and Nevada. | , I'm used to it. Unfortunately, certain family obligations
make it difficult to obtain (read as: My wife doesn't like Mexican food).
La
Familia is a sort of combined fast food and "sit down" restaurant. Your
order is placed in a cafeteria-style line, in a smaller area, however,
and is brought to your table on a hot ceramic plate. A self-serve salsa
bar will keep you occupied while you wait.
The food is perfectly
seasoned, and this is especially noticable in the not-bland chicken. Service
was very friendly, and the menu on the wall was more than comprehensive.
Both indoor and outdoor seating are available, and with the nice weather
we've been having, outdoors was an obvious choice.
La Familia
is definately a place I'd like to visit again when I'm in the area.
La
Familia is located at 3301 W. Indian School Rd. in Phoenix.
