This restaurant, a recommendation from my sister, was a small step back
in time. The interior consisted of bright yet cozy colors, which was very
much the opposite of the strip-mall exterior. Even the salt and pepper
shakers were miniature food-shaped items.
We walked in and were
invited to sit wherever we liked. Our drink order was taken promptly and
we were given the menus to begin looking through the variety of available
breakfast meals. The first thing we noticed were the very reasonable prices
for all of the meals. This can sometimes mean small portions.
Today,
however, that was not the case. Full plates arrived at our table shortly
after ordering, and it was just the right amount of food. We stayed and
talked for about an hour and absorbed the atmosphere, and we weren't pressured
to leave before we were ready.
Grandma's Kitchen is located
at 1225 W. Main St. in Mesa.
