We passed by the Flagstaff Brewing Company on Route 66 while in the area
for the day. My wife, being French-Canadian, had noticed that they had
poutine on the menu. Being far from home, she hadn't tried this in a long
time, and wanted to do a taste-test to see if it was anything like the
real thing. However, she did find it amusing that the waiter couldn't
correctly pronounce the dish.
I, on the other hand, was hoping
for some micro brewed root beer and good old grilled foods. Service was
extremely slow for just about everything; having our order taken, receiving
drinks, etc. But when the food finally arrived, I was fairly impressed
with the taste. It wasn't amazing, but it was acceptable.
We
spent about 20 minutes eating, and about an hour waiting. I was amazingly
surprised at how chilly the weather was, being almost the beginning of
June. I was hoping this was statewide, but wasn't that lucky.
The
menu selection was average though unique, and the atmosphere was either
extremely dirty and cheap or quaint and authentic. It was hard to tell.
And to top it all off, they were out of root beer.
The Flagstaff
Brewing Company is located at 16 E. Route 66 in Flagstaff.
