This location was introduced to me by a friend over two years ago, and
just recently did I stop in and try it out for myself. From the looks,
this is the type of place you'd expect to wear a nice suit and black tie
to. That's how the waiters tend to dress.
We walked in, friend-given
gift certificates in-hand, and were seated right away. Our server had
an accent that fit in perfectly with the decor. Lunchtime seemed a great
time to go as there were very few people. Unfortunately, that didn't help
speed up the service, as it still took some time to receive anything.
Our
meals finally arrived, and they were so-so. The service could be considered
high-class or high-snob, depending on your perspective. The pricing is
lower than what you'd expect, but they make up for it with their "No Free
Refills" on fountain drinks, which can end up being about half the bill.
I'll
probably end up going back, mainly because I still have a couple unused
gift-certificates. But normally, the way I chug down soda, it would not
be an economical place to dine.
John Henry's is located at 909
