We had been in Sedona many times before, and even around Tlaquepaque.
This time, we decided to try a restaurant there for dinner. Either our
expectations were very high, the meal was really bad, or both.
We
walked into the Oak Creek Brewery and Grill and it looked like we were
going to have a wonderful experience. The booths were shaped in half circles
and very comfortable to sit in. Our initial appetizers were great, and
we'd hoped for more of the same. Unfortunately, this all changed when
the main courses arrived.
The ribs appeared boiled and then
drenched in barbecue sauce as if to try and hide the cooking method. The
rice and broccoli were seasoned in such a way as to repel human ingestion.
It went so far as us having to have some of the food replaced. And with
the overinflated prices we had hoped for something better. However, it
seems the pricing is based on their one almost-redeeming factor -- Location,
location, location.
If we go back, it'll be to sit, relax, and
have drinks; but not to have a meal.
Oak Creek Brewery and Grill
is located the Tlaquepaque Village in Sedona.
