La Parilla Suiza is a restaurant that bases its recipes on traditional
Mexico City style cuisine. Multiple locations are available in Mexico,
and I'm glad they've decided to open up several locations here in Arizona.
This
is not your typical Sonoran-style Mexican food. Mexico City style differs
somewhat from the northern Mexico food that we're normally accustomed to
in ArizonaArizona | (air-i'-ZON-u') | The State of Arizona comprises the extreme south-western portion of the United States. It is bounded on the north by Utah, on the east by New Mexico, on the south by Mexico, and on the west by California and Nevada. | . While the differences are small, they are noticeable and a nice change
of pace.
We first walked into their restaurant in Mesa and were
very pleased with the decor, knowing right away that this was going to
be a very accommodating experience. Chips and three kinds of salsa were
served complimentary, and drinks were brought right away. Never actually
having gone to Mexico City, we had some questions about the dishes we hadn't
seen before.
After sampling a variety of foods, we were extremely
satisfied with the quality and preparation that went into each dish. The
service was quick and friendly and the menu had a lot of great choices
with information describing each.
On top of all that, the prices
were very reasonable. This will be a great place to frequent.
La
Parilla Suiza is located 1622 S. Stapley in Mesa.
