Phoenix area weather

My wife and I, are contemplating retiring into the Phoenix area (Queen Creek, Chandler). We are also considering the Las Vegas area. I've read, that the Phoenix area weather is getting more humid. That's the sole reason, for not moving to Florida. We've been to LV in the summer, but, have never experienced Phoenix, in the summer. Those that have lived in/are familiar with both areas ... Any thoughts?? Any suggestions of other AZ areas, that may have a milder summer, would be appreciated.

If you go to the weather section of this site (Arizona Info on the left menu, then Weather & Climate), you can view the weather information, both current and trends, for each and every city and town around Arizona.

Among the warmest will be Phoenix (and surrounding suburbs), Lake Havasu, Bullhead City, Yuma, and Tucson. When you go further north, you'll reach milder areas like Sedona, Prescott, Payson, and Pine. Even more north and the summers are very mile and the winters are cold, like Flagstaff and Show Low.

Basically, anything in the desert is hot and dry (with the exception of the summer monsoons, then it's hot and kind of wet), and anything north of the Mogollon Rim is higher in elevation, and more mild, but only slightly higher in humidity.
