Pet license laws for renters?

Hi there, In planning a move to Arizona, I realized that my sweet, old (indoor) kitty who has lived with me for over 15 years may suddenly be asked for a license to live somewhere new. What a scary thought, at her age! Anyway, I think I read somewhere that the state of Arizona does not require licenses for cats. I hope that's right. I wonder: Is this true in all counties? If anyone knows the answer to this, it would be a help. I have done a search but it's difficult to get the answers I need.

I will be looking for an apartment to rent, and I guess each property will have its own rules, but it would be good to know the local laws beforehand. Thanks!!!

I'm not absolutely sure about this, but I believe it's not a requirement. I've never heard of it being required to license a pet anywhere in Arizona. Maricopa (where Phoenix is located) would probably be the most strict about that, and it's not required here. There are advantages, however, in that if your pet is lost, and then someone finds it, it's much easier to identify that it belongs to you.

But why would you be concerned with age? I don't think that's related to licensing here.
