Hi. I plan to move to Tucson sometime in October with my two cats. I will be renting and would like to find a nice quiet, safe area. Does anyone have a suggestion of where I should begin my search? For now, it will be via internet. Also, how far in advance should I make an actual visit to Tucson to find an apt.? Would August be too early? Thanks in advance for any help. Betty

If you rent with an apartment complex you might be able to rent for October at that time. I found mine at rent.com. You should also try apartments.com. They have lots of listings as well.

Do you have a suggestion of what areas of Tucson I should look at? I am not at all familiar with Tucson. Also, I don't want to live in an apartment house complex; rather a townhouse type of rental; do you know of any? Thanks again.

Unfortunately, I can't help you with that. I live in Phoenix.

If there's anyone presently living in the Tucson area who can help me, I would appreciate suggestions; thanks in advance.

I came out in Oct 97...found a place I think was in Sept. I needed apt that allowed a 40 lb dog and was either on a busline or in walking distance to the job. Went to apt locator place and landed a place the same day. Those apt guidebooks are great, do you have connection to them? I was in a townhouse w/fenced front yard, lg 1 bedroom, single level, fireplace, Swan & Grant area, lots of shopping and not far from shopping. I doubt you will have problems finding a place, lots of "for rents" here. Prices vary as well as what you get for the money of course. Not sure what side of town you want to live in. I bought a place in 2000, SE side of town. Don't know if I can be of much help but feel free to ask, I have been in your shoes and appreciated the help I got when I posted long distance.
