Getting There

To reach the Verde Hot Springs, follow the directions carefully, as the path can be unforgiving for those who aren't prepared. From Cottonwood, take Highway 179 towards Sedona and then turn onto Forest Road 618 (also known as the Red Rock-Snowbowl Rd). Continue on this road until you reach the signed parking area for the springs.

Understanding the Hike

The hike to Verde Hot Springs is approximately 4 miles round trip, with a moderate level of difficulty. The trail begins at an elevation of around 5,000 feet and descends into a lush riparian area along Fossil Creek. Along the way, you'll encounter stunning red rock formations, diverse wildlife, and a chance to spot rare plant species.
