A new restaurant opened within the past year in the old Burger King building on McClintock and Broadway. I've read the reviews, the articles, and the promotions of this restaurant, and I have to respectfully disagree.

Z's is extremely clean upon entering, the prices are right, and everyone is friendly; but the quality of the food just isn't there. It's always my belief that, while a restaurant has to have more than just good food, it has to at least have good food. The owner claims that almost all of their ingredients are imported directly from Chicago to maintain authenticity. This may be true, though I imagine most food in Chicago tastes better than this.

One thing to their credit, though, is that their french fries and milkshakes are delicious; but one cannot live on fries and shakes alone. Given the choice, I'll continue to visit their hot dog neighbor across the street.
