Last Minute Christmas Stuff

This is the final weekend to get all of your last-minute Christmas shopping
completed. If you're buying gifts at the mall, have fun! The malls, and
even non-mall stores, are going to be extremely crowded as the busiest
shopping days of the year grow nearer. Even finding a parking space is
going to be a task. The only real upside here is that the weather is great
this time of year.
Our family likes to make gifts. It gives
us the advantage of being able to customize each present, and seems much
more personal than going to the store to buy some big expensive present
to throw at the recipient. Not to say that a personal touch is not added
when the giver is carefully choosing a present, I just don't think it's
as fun.
I would very much like to write here about the types
of gifts that we're making this year, but the recipients of those gifts
are also avid readers of this site. So that being said, this weekend I'm
going to be very busy buying all of the supplies to make , and then
I'll be working on throughout this week. It's going to be great
fun!
I'll be looking forward to Wednesday next week when our
family along with my parents' entire block will be gathering for the traditional
Christmas Eve block party. Each house has many luminarias laid around
the driveways and sidewalks. We walk around, enjoying the lights, decorations,
and hot chocolate or hot apple cider. This has been a much-anticipated
tradition on our block for as long as I can remember.
